The Quantum Scalar 100 Tape Library from InStock is a mid-range tape library that supports anywhere from 15 to 96 tapes and from one to eight drives, depending on your choice of configuration. Supported drive technologies include LTO, SDLT/DLT, and AIT. A standard rack cabinet can hold three Quantum Scalar 100 tape libraries, providing over 86TBs of capacity in a very compact amount of floor space. The Scalar 100 has storage networking optionswhich can enable iSCSI or enable Fibre Channel (FC) connectivity. A FC option provides the tape library with intelligent features to improve SAN backup performance and reliability. An iSCSI option on the library provides a very easy to implement connectivity choice which lets the servers share a single library over a standard Ethernet connection.
